‘I’m a lot softer’: Inspirational burns survivor Turia Pitt reveals how motherhood has changed her as she prepares to welcome her second child

Turia Pitt is set to welcome her second child with fiancé Michael Hoskin in the coming weeks.

And the inspirational burns survivor told The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential on Wednesday that motherhood has made her ‘a lot softer’.

‘It has made me a lot more compassionate, more caring, more selfless and more conscious of the fact that I have someone else in the world that takes priority over me,’ the 32-year-old explained.

‘I have enjoyed how it has changed me,’ the motivational speaker added.  

Turia went on to say that her second pregnancy has been ‘pretty good’ and ‘easy’.  

The former athlete and her fiancé Michael are proud parents to two-year-old son Hakavai, with their second child due in just a matter of weeks.

They announced the news in a ‘Beyoncé-inspired video montage’ shared to Instagram in August last year.

‘When Michael and I want to share big news, I insist on creating a Beyoncé-inspired video montage. Baby #2, we can’t wait to meet you,’ Turia captioned the sweet clip.

She added: ‘PS I promise we’ll find you a more appropriate name soon’.

‘I no longer have any desire to do an Ironman. Having a baby has changed me and when you become a mum you quickly realise your whole life fits in around your kids.

‘I don’t want to be out running for five hours straight. I know how precious life is and I’d rather be with my son,’ she continued.
